Gold at the end of the Rainbow...

Hello All!

I cannot believe we're almost at the end of the first month of 2010 and I haven't done as promised and posted more, so here is a very large update.

Rainbow Cupcakes
I love the idea of rainbow cupcakes, and so does everyone else I ever talk to, but I'd never actually given them a try before. So when one of my best friends' celebrated her 25th birthday this month I saw my chance for a little surprise rainbow cupcake making!!

I stuck to my tried and tested vanilla cupcake recipe and divided the mixture into four bowls. I dyed the seperated mixtures blue, pink, yellow and green and put roughly a teaspoon of each colour into the cupcake cases.

You end up with this wonderful melted crayon effect!

I was in a little bit of hurry getting to the partying but needless the say the cupcakes went down a storm. My good friend Leyla particularly enjoyed them, I think she had at least four.

Here she is devouring her second cake and you can see the wonderful outcome of mixing the four colours!

Threre are lots of things going on for me at the moment, or things I'm planning on doing.

I am attending The Iron Cupcake on Monday 1st February, just as a casual observer, which I'm really looking forward to!

I am attending a Cookie Girl cupcake decoarting course later in the month and there is a possibility of some actual paid work coming up! Will keep everyone posted.

Much love,

Belle

Happy New Year

Hello,

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you have a happy and healthy 2010 and spend the year with friends eating cake.

I intend to use this blog in lots of exciting ways this year including video tutorials and photos aplenty, with the help of some of my lovely friends.

Apologies for keeping this brief but I leave you with some photos of lovely cupcakes I got from The Hummingbird Bakery on Portobello Road the weekend before Christmas.

As rude as the staff can be at the Hummingbird Bakery and as much as you feel like you're moving along a conveyer belt I still love thier cupcakes and these looked and tasted fabulous.
